You may now be wondering, “Where is my Salesforce org located?” or “Is it working correctly?” and “Is there any planned maintenance?” There is a quick way to answer this question. As knowing where the data is really located is one of the most important security- and law-related topics, Salesforce provides us with a way to find this information.

To check what is your Salesforce org instance, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Get your instance: To get this, navigate to Setup -> Company Information. Check the value of the field instance. It may look like this: EU44. Here’s a screenshot example:

2. Go to the following Salesforce page: https://trust.salesforce.com/. After entering the page, navigate to the Status tab, and in the search bar search for your instance name:

3. Check the information related to your instance: There is a lot of interesting information that you may get from the Salesforce status page, such as the following:

Current status by service: Here, you can check the current availability status related to Salesforce services such as core features, Search, Service Cloud, CPQ, Einstein, and many more.

  • History: Here, you can check the availability history.

For example, here you can see that on September 8, there were some issues with the instance (you can identify marked issues by looking for an exclamation mark placed on the timeline):

To get more info about the incident, just click on it and read the description. You will also see the start time, end time, and the duration:

  • Maintenance: A list of historical and future maintenance related to this instance:

As you can see in the preceding screenshot, you are able to discover when Salesforce had the maintenance or when will be the next one, so you can consider this in your development plans. Some of the maintenance is also related to new features implementation, so it’s worth checking them out before Salesforce releases.
