To prepare for each section of the exam, it is essential to enroll and complete the Data Cloud curriculum. The course has the following sections, and each section covers certain topics from the exam outline:
- Data Cloud: Overview
This module explains what Data Cloud is, including its key features and common ways customers benefit from the platform. This covers the solution overview section of the exam. - Data Cloud: Setup
The Data Cloud: Setup module explains how to navigate the Data Cloud interface, add user roles and permissions, and connect it to external data sources. It covers the setup part of the setup and administration section of the exam. - Data Cloud: Data Ingestion
In this module, you will explore how to ingest data into Data Cloud from various sources. It will cover the data ingestion part of the exam. - Data Cloud: Data Modeling
In this Data Cloud: Data Modeling module, you will discover how to map data to the Data Cloud data model designed from the Customer 360 Data Model. Covers the data modeling section. - Data Cloud: Identity Resolution
In this Data Cloud: Identity Resolution course, you will explore how to unify customer data by using the identity resolution match and reconciliation rules. Covers the identity resolution section of the exam, which has the highest weightage. - Data Cloud: Insights
Explore the insights capabilities of Data Cloud, including calculated insights, streaming insights, and visual insights builder. Covers the insights part of the segmentation and insights section. - Data Cloud: Segmentation
In this Data Cloud: Segmentation course, you will be able to explore the segmentation capabilities of Data Cloud, including common segment examples and how to build segments in an account. Covers the segmentation part of the segmentation and insights section. - Data Cloud: Activation
Explore how to configure the activation of segments in the Data Cloud and determine which activation targets are currently available in this module. Covers the activation section of the exam, which has the second highest weightage in the exam. - Data Cloud: Administration
Investigate general Data Cloud administration tasks performed by an Admin, including maintenance, packaging, and troubleshooting in this module. It covers the administration part of the setup and administration section of the exam. - Data Cloud: Implementation Basics
In this Data Cloud: Implementation Basics course, you will explore how to prepare for the implementation of the Data Cloud solution, identify applicable use cases, and deliver on projects. As such this module is not directly related to any of the exam modules, but gives a sense of the overall implementation basics. You can expect a few questions on the exam on this topic as well.
After going through these modules and completing the hands-on exercises that are a part of the curriculum, you will be around 60% prepared to take the test.
The remaining 40% of the preparation involves practicing sample questions and building proof of concepts (POC) or working on a Data Cloud implementation project. It is a chicken and an egg problem. For working on a Data Cloud implementation project, project managers will want a certification and at the same time, to get certified, having practical experience helps. Even to get a free Data Cloud org for your company to build POCs for your customers, you need to have at least two Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant certified. So it goes without saying, many would have to attempt the exam without actually working on a Data Cloud project.
You will get a chance to sign up for a free trial org while completing the curriculum. You can use that org to practice Data Cloud concepts. Create your own use case and build POCs on them for your own use only. Salesforce prohibits building POCs on those orgs for customer demos. Try using different approaches and tinkering with the features to get the best of the platform. Refer to the Data Cloud documentation for better understanding.
After that, it is time to practice sample questions for the data cloud exam. Make sure you are practicing questions before attempting the exam. Thoroughly understand the underlying concept for each question. It is not the answer that matters but the concept that the question is talking about. All concepts should be crystal clear. We will include a few sample questions for you to practice. You can get more such questions from different websites. Make sure you do not violate the code of conduct for the exam. Do not attempt or ask for actual exam questions as this violates the code of conduct. You are free to practice on sample questions but not on the actual exam questions or dumps as they are commonly known.
